Specifically, the project aims at strengthening policy-making at sector level, strategic planning and policy management capacities, enhancing stakeholders’ knowledge and awareness of EU policies, legislation and regulations. Specific advice will be given to ensure the political, institutional and financial feasibility of the reforms in order to ensure their effective implementation.

Our Mission

The overall objective of the European Union High-Level Advisers Mission is to support the Government to implement its reform Agenda and in particular to assist the Government in developing the capacities required for the implementation of the Association Agreement (AA), including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), as well as to ensure the necessary follow-up for the post Visa Liberalisation stage.

THE EU HIGH LEVEL ADVISERS’ MISSION TO THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA, EXTENDED FOR ONE MORE YEAR
The duration of the EU-funded project ‘Support to the implementation of the European Union High Level Advisers’ Mission’ has been extended for one more year – until 1 January 2023. The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova approved the extension the project implemented by a consortium led by ‘Business & Strategies in Europe’, thus bringing the total duration to 4 years – since 2 January 2019 until 1 January 2023.

The Republic of Moldova will have a smart specialization strategy, developed with EU support
The development of the Smart Specialization Strategy – the policy document that involves an approach based on resources available within a country, taking into account its socio-economic challenges, used to identify unique opportunities for development and growth – has been recently completed. In other words, smart specialization means targeting the resources available for research and innovation exactly in the areas where they can be fully capitalized – to the sectors that have increased competitiveness and attractiveness in a country, which will later contribute to its economic growth.

The 5th Steering Committee meeting of the “Support to the Implementation of the EU High Level Advisers’ Mission” Project took place on 19 October 2021. Members of the Steering Committee – representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova and Government institutions – discussed and assessed the activities carried out during the first semester of 2021.
