In the framework of the EU Sustainable Energy Week, the EU High Level Advisers’ Mission organized today, 8 June, a roundtable discussion with stakeholders of the energy sector on solutions for the Republic of Moldova electricity grid interconnection with the EU network and its integration into the EU energy market.

Around 45 experts – representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, energy regulating authorities, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, civil society and academia – engaged in lively debates on current energy topics.

Following presentations delivered by the EU High Level Adviser on Energy, Alexandru Sandulescu, the roundtable’s participants had the possibility to share views on the benefits but also the challenges of establishing a proper electricity interconnection with EU networks and the integration of Moldovan energy electricity market into the EU internal energy market. According to them, this format of open discussions is very useful and such roundtables on current topics in the energy sector are welcome in the future, on a regular basis.
