The conference dedicated to consultations on the concept of the Strategy of public administration reform in the Republic of Moldova is taking place in Chsinau, on 28-29 November. As a candidate country for joining the European Union, the Republic of Moldova is committed to updating the strategic and political framework of public administration reform, and the Conference aims to advance the consultation process of the Strategy by initiating a broad and open dialogue on all its components. Special attention is given to the reform options and solutions for increasing the capacities of local public administrations (LPAs).

EU HLA Mission 2019 - 2021
On November 17, on International Students' Day, nearly 200 students and pupils participated in an event on promoting the teaching career, organised by the Ministry of Education and Research with the support of the EU High Level Advisers’ Mission. The purpose of the event was to promote the image of the teacher and increase the interest, motivation and number of young people who will opt for the teaching career.
The Republic of Moldova becomes the first country in the region to achieve mutual recognition of authorised economic operators with the European Union
Authorised economic operators from Moldova will now be recognised by all the 27 EU member states – further deepening the economic integration between our country and the Union. This is an important step aimed to boost export capacity of Moldovan products to the EU market and of vital interest to businesses. The adoption of this decision is a historic event, which brings the Republic of Moldova even closer to the European Union, our country now being among the few states with which the Union has such a partnership. The EU mutually recognises the authorised economic operators of only a few more states: the USA, the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Japan and China.
Public office gaps, analyzed and prioritized in the context of the development of the new Public Administration Reform Strategy
The gaps related to the public office in the Moldovan civil service have been analyzed and prioritized within an exercise carried out by the EU High Level Adviser on Local Public Administration Reform, including Decentralization and Voluntary Amalgamation, Victor Giosan, together with representatives of the State Chancellery involved in the process of public administration reform.
The Customs Service is strengthening its communication efforts, with the support of the European Union
A new Communication Strategy of the Customs Service, accompanied by an action plan, was presented to the general public today, October 11. The strategy was developed with the support of the European Union, through its project "EU High Level Advisers’ Mission", with the main objective to establish a clear framework for both internal and external interaction, but also to identify the right channels and instruments in this regard.
18 more fellow interns of the Innovative Internship Programme funded by the EU receive their award certificates
The 18 young people who carried out their internship in the Presidential Administration received their award certificate in a festive ceremony which took place yesterday, 29 September. For three months, 18 interns worked next to the staff of the Presidency - advisers and heads of divisions - in the legal, security, communication, foreign affairs & protocol, internal policy and other departments. According to the concept of the programme, the main goal is to offer the opportunity to students and young graduates to learn what public service work means and to acquire skills that will increase their chances of employment in the future.
An informal network of development partners active in the anticorruption field was kicked off on Friday, at the initiative of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova. The main aim of the network is to provide a communication platform for all the donors active in the field of anticorruption for regular interaction, identification of synergies and coordination of efforts. The first informal meeting was held on Friday, 23 September, chaired by Irina Cruceru, Programme Manager for Good Governance and Public Administration Reform, Anticorruption and Anti-money laundering within the Delegation of the European Union, and Pawel Wojtunik, EU High Level Adviser on Anticorruption.
Interns of the Innovative Programme launched by the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova successfully finalise their fellowships in state institutions
For two months, 29 young people participated in the innovative internships programme launched by the European Union in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Moldova. They worked together with the civil servants, being guided in their daily activities by the EU High Level Advisers. Interns were hosted by a wide range of state institutions, including the State Chancellery, the Presidential Administration, Ministries of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Education and Research, Justice, Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Environment, but also Customs Service, National Anticorruption Centre, the National Bank and others.
Increased border security – topic of the meeting of Frontex representatives and Moldovan authorities
A working meeting of the representatives of Frontex, the EU High Level Adviser on Internal Security Affairs and members of the General Police Inspectorate, Border Police, Customs Services, and PCCOCS (Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases) to discuss the current and next phases regarding the Security HUB in Moldova took place yesterday, 3 August. The topics raised included border security of the Republic of Moldova, firearms, illegal trafficking, investigations, data management, and the support Frontex can offer to the Republic of Moldova for the EU Security HUB activity and its urgent objectives.
The interns of the innovative programme of the European Union and the Government discuss the current status of the EU – RM relations in key sectors
Over 30 interns taking part in the innovative programme of the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova held a meeting, on 21 July, with representatives of the Delegation of the European Union, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EU High Level Advisers. The main topic of the meeting was the current status of EU – Republic of Moldova relations.
