For the first time, 47 young people will do internships in state institutions, thanks to the innovative Internships Programme launched by the European Union in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Moldova

47 students, master students and young graduates will do internships for two months in public institutions, thanks to the pilot internships programme launched by the European Union in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

The interns were selected following a rigorous competition: the contest among applications, followed by interviews with the Evaluation Commission, consisting of representatives of the Delegation of the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova. The young people will start, today, their internship in one of the state institutions - ministries, subordinate agencies, but also the National Bank, the Office for Prevention and Fight against Money Laundering, the Presidential Institution. Interns will be guided in their daily work by the EU High Level Advisers and will work side by side with civil servants. The main goal of the programme is to offer young people the opportunity to learn, from the first source, what public service work means, but also to acquire skills that will increase their chances of employment once they graduate.

The introductory meeting of the internships programme was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Natalia Gavrilița and the Ambassador of the European Union in Chisinau Jānis Mažeiks, who welcomed the perseverance of young people.

The initiative was launched in the context of the European Year of Youth 2022, designed to encourage the participation of young people in all social, economic and administrative activities.

The internships programme is funded by the European Union.
